It seems so trivial to just use words,
To describe what you mean to me,
There are no words that can express,
The feeling that we were meant to be,
You know what I want before I express it,
And I finish sentences for you,
We say the same things at the same time,
And people say that soulmates can’t be true!
We’ve been together since we were kids,
And they said it would never last.
It looks like we proved them wrong,
Since our 18th anniversary’s long passed!
But if I had to describe my love,
I’d describe it as an eternal flame,
It burns bright with a very occasional flicker,
But always burns hot again,
You’re truly an angel without wings,
You’re the hero of my heart,
We’ve been together through thick and thin,
Despite those trying to tear us apart,
We don’t make much fuss on Valentine’s Day,
So I thought a little rhyme would suffice,
To tell you that I value you so much,
Your love for me is beyond price.

The perfect Valentine is when a partner listens to you and does little things that make the day special, a bouquet of flowers (Interflora of course), a post-it note saying ‘I love you’ in your handbag, then being taken somewhere that makes you feel wonderful, whether that be the theatre, the monster truck rally or the spa. The best ‘stay at home’ Valentines are always simple, thoughtful, and wonderfully tailored just to you. Hopefully your man is so romantic that there won’t be a vast difference between V day and every other day.

We met when we were fifteen and married at twenty one
After seven years of wedded bliss came son number one
Three years later and nine weeks prem came baby number two
A courageous little fighting boy someone to dress in blue
Another prem, our gorgeous girl was tiny as could be
Special care was not a shock to you or nor to me
Seven weeks early and not very well came baby number four
After many ops, he’s better now a boy that we adore
With 4 amazing gorgeous kids our life is never dull
We’re so grateful to have them all, they’re such a miracle
Now we’ve both turned forty and love each other more
Having fun and laughing has never been a chore
Time alone for you and I is few and far between
So what a treat it would be if you know what I mean
